Juicy, exciting fruit flavours before an intense bitterness as sharp as a Macaw’s screech.

Hopped with: Summit and Amarillo.

A brown yellow beer, a head is medium and blond. Aroma has strong citrusfruity notes, some black currants and gooseberries, also biscuity maltyness. Taste has biscuits, citrusfruits, nice bite of bitterness. Medium bodied, easy to drink. Slightly harsh bitterness. Nice beer.

Bottle from Damian. Aroma oxidized. Flavour as well, but also sourish. Stale hops impression. Really poorly drinkable. Poor overall as well.

Cask at the Draper’s Arms, Peterborough. Golden-amber with a thick white head. Grapefruit and tropical fruits up front with some flowers and a touch of pine following. Plenty of hops here, but still a good balance of sweet malt against the bitterness. Very tasty, very drinkable, very more-ish. Oakham do make this sort of beer very well indeed.

Hazy orange beer with a thick creamy head. Very light citrus smell. Flavour is sweet and lemony but not sickly. Slightly spicy, floral backtaste. Smooth, easy going and very drinkable.

16.9 oz. bottle into a Stella glass BB date smudged but appears to be a cpl months past. A: 3.5 Amber/orange slightly hazy appearance. Poured to a small tight eggshell head. Lacing retention is good in the center of the beer and edges of the glass. Little lasting visible carbonation. I like the color. S: 3.25 Slight fruity bite on the nose with a malty backbone. Interesting balance. T: 3.0 Immediate citrus pith whether orange or grapefruit. The same malt bready sweetness is still in place but the pithy hops seem to dominate. Not bad and kind of different but more hop complexity would have been good. Not to tone down the hops but just to add another dimension. The citrus pith gets a bit old after a while. M: 3.5 Saves this review. A little soapy, very slightly chewy both of which I like. Carbonation is subdued but there and enjoyable. Surprisingly not much of a lingering aftertaste. I’ll call this a positive in this case. Does go down good! O: 3.25 A surprising and different brew. The hop taste is too one dimensional. I like the citrus punch but too much astringency inside. Low 4.8% ABV says sessionable but I don’t think I’d like to drink many of these in one sitting. Overall, nice and glad I tried it but not one I’ll return to.

Pours a slightly hazy orange/golden color, topped with a decent and quickly settling white head. Malty aroma, some nice and easily picked up fruity notes also here, as well as some caramel. The taste starts sweet, but soon a rather strong bitterness kicks in. Still, very drinkable and enjoyable.

Bottle, 4.8%. Mild lemony and grapefruity aroma. Hazy golden colour. OK stable white head. The flavour is grapefruity at first, turning quite malty. Nice spicy hop finish. Good mouthfeel.
