Fremont Brewing began as a dream in 2008. Years later, our dream has come true in each and every one of you, our craft beer family. And like every family, we have had our ups and our downs, but we keep coming back together knowing we are stronger together. In your hands is a special nod to you, a gift for now that will continue to give many years from now should you have the patience to wait…Brew 9000. This English-style barleywine ale uses floor-malted English barley, Noble hops, and is aged in 10-15 year-old, single use bourbon barrels for 16 months to bring you a complex and subtle craft beer flavor experience. We brewed this to celebrate brewing our 9000th brew, and we look forward to sharing it with you, our craft beer family. “Barleywine Ale Is Life.” – VWP

Dark brown with a gentle haze, this barley wine greets the senses with rich aromas of molasses, toffee, brown sugar, cola, vanilla, whiskey, and dried fruits, layered with hints of oak and biscuit. On the palate, it’s intensely sweet and full-bodied, with warming alcohol and subtle carbonation that adds a delicate tingling sensation. 22oz @ Phill's shared with Josh.
Aroma: caramel and oven-dried fruits (apples, pears, etc).
Taste: along the same lines, not as thick as I would expect.
Overall: decent, but not the best from the series.

Dark amber. The aroma has a fairly deep fruitiness to it, and on the palate, very fruity indeed. The raisin, fruitcake character is prominent and the bourbon is prominent, maybe even a bit rough. Fruity, toffeeish and with a decent barrel, the base is probably lacking refinement? Something is - it's not a bad beer but something seems just a little bit off.

On tap at WABF 2026, pours a deep dark mahogany with a small beige head. Aroma is complex, with big dark dried fruits, bourbon barrels, toffee, and dark sugars. Flavour is quite sweet, with big bourbon barrels, exquisite brown sugars, dark dried fruits, and toffee. Wonderful sugars and bourbon expression, with endless depth. Lovely.

On tap at WA Brewers Fest 2026. Pours a murky brown with a beige head. Loads of bourbon, brown bread, burnt sugars. Flavour has rich, bready malts, dark sugars, some char, and a great bourbon barrel expression. Rich and complex; excellent.
