Im Jahre 1800 kam das erste bayrische, dunkle Bier nach Dänemark. Es war das erste untergärige Bier in Dänemark und weil es so beliebt war nennt man dieses Bier heute noch "bajer".
Das Bier von 1800 hatte eine rötliche, dunkle Farbe und einen vollmundigen, würzigen Geschmack. So ein Bier wurde auch im Jahr 1864 im deutsch-dänisch Krieg bei den Düppeler Schanzen getrunken. Die Brauer der Westindien Compagnie aus Flensburg haben dieses Bier nach alter Rezeptur wieder eingebraut. Nicht als Stärkung für die Schlacht, sondern einfach zum Essen oder mit Freunden zum Genießen.
Nicht umsonst heißt es auf der Flasche "Foren jer og drik øl" - vertragt Euch und trinkt Bier

Maritim rating med EO, OG og KH ombord på Fridtjofen (Havnedagene i Haugesund) aug-19: 0,75 flaske med champagnekork - dette ser jo lovende ut! Rødlig kobber med kort skum. Røde bær, dadler, kndissukker og svært sjenerte humler. Lettdrikkelig men akk så endimensjonal.

Shared bottle at RB/HD on board Fridtjofen at Havnedagene in Haugesund 17.08.19. Translucent dark chestnut. Small, beige head. Sweet aroma and taste of dates, syrup, caramel sauce and a little balancing hops.

Pours clear amber with a small off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, yeast, caramel and chocolate. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter with a long caramel, yeasty and chocolate finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Small bubbly shortlasting head. Aroma is slightly sweet spiced, sweetgale, heather, caramel malts, raisins, soda powder, sorrel, fruit salt, hints of mild vinegar. Taste is slightly sour-ish dry, soda powder, sorrel, minerals, grass, lemon, sweetgale, heather, sour winegum, citrus peel, caramel malts, hints of mild vinegar. Medium bitterness, slightly sour-ish mouthfeel. Nice enough, interesting.
