Bottle from Albertsons. First impressions can go a long way, and this one left a lasting mark. Black creamy pour, silky beige head, robust roast grain aroma and some instant alcohol warmth. Nothing subtle about it, a big in your face stout. Lasting bitterness sticks around for a while, overall presentation is stellar.

22oz bottle pours out dark brown almost black topped with a tan head. Nose is sweet malts chocolate coffee and some hop notes. Taste is nice with a good malt balance sweet rich and a little tart. A good little hop touch on the end.

500 ml bottle from Lee’s Discount Liquors - East Flamingo Las Vegas. Nose is chocolate, black bread, molasses, and hints of coffee. Black with a small, lightly lacing tan head. Flavor is peppery, light bitter and sweet, with some chocolate. Very good stuff.

500 mL bottle. Black pour, with a huge, light brown color, and great lacing. The aroma is bittersweet chocolates, molasses, cinnamon, pumpernickel, some light earthiness and just a touch of salt. Sweet flavor, with a slight bitterness from the roasted malts. Medium to heavy body, chalky, but slick, with a relatively clean finish. Overall, this is a nice stout, but nothing too special.

Giant swing top bottle pours an inky black with some beige head. Nose is big and roasty, toast, licorice, molasses, cake. Flavor is nice and roasty too, toast, chocolate, malt, licorice, light booze. Medium bodied, dry finish. Good.

Picked up at the brewpub. This swing top bottle pours with a dark body that supports a tall densely cobwebbed mocha colored head. The aroma is nice and malty with dark roasted malts, musty earthy sweet malts and chocolate malts as well as a dash of earthy dates thinly ringed around the other notes. The taste begins with a sweet maltiness leading quickly into dark roasted malts and earthy chocolate malts. The chocolate gets thick midway just as a robust level of burnt malts tries its best to take the flavor over completely. Wow! This has tons of flavor that work seamlessly together. Nice stuff.

Interesting smaller swingtop, finally not a liter bottle! Thanks to Jeremy for picking this up. Pours a deep brown color with a medium beige head. The nose is all roast and charred wood, some caramel. The flavor is ashy, some bitter dark chocolate, smoke, very dry, cocoa. Great brew.
