12 oz can purchased at Pinocchio’s Beer Garden in Media, Pennsylvania. The pour is a clear golden, with a smallish off white head. The aroma is fresh cracker malt, soft grass, a bit of hay, and just an overall traditional Oktoberfest nose. The taste is the fresh malt of the nose, paired and integrated nicely with the grass and hay notes. Dry, fresh malt grain character. The palate is light to medium bodied with the dry crisp finish. Well made tasty Oktoberfest.

12 ounce can from Oak Tree Liquors. Only my 2nd Sly Fox beer and my first in over three years, which is shocking considering I’m not that far away. Pours a clear amber color with a thin frothy white head. Good head retention. Aroma of toasted malts with a bit of grain and faint caramel. The taste is toasted malts and caramel with an herbal hop finish. Medium bodied, average carbonation, well balanced, refreshing. Nice beer.

Brownish orange lighter pour. Sweeter yeasty olfactory. Taste is quite strong like a higher alky brew. Slick and resenous. Palate is oily with little or no CO2. Finishes off to be a little whiskey soaked fruit ish. A stronger octoberfest it seems, personality wise at least thaq is. Big bear of fest this is. Not even close to Hacker or Schell’s.

Biscuity, light caramel, some yeast, and honey in the aroma. Flavor has more dough malt than anything but a little sweet, honey malt, and maybe some caramel. Billions of tiny bubbles add a bite to this one. A decent beer, but a bit lacking in the Oktoberfest arena.

Sampled from a 12 oz can this beer poured an orange-amber color with a large soapy tan head that lingered and produced good lacing. The aroma was faintly sweet, malty and a bit tangy with touches of fruit and pepper. The flavor was malty and sweet with notes of nut, caramel, faint fruits and pepper. Medium length finish. Smooth and moderately full body. Decent.

Location: Location: 22 oz bottle from Whole Foods-Bowery, 10/10/09

Aroma: A malty, cereal, bread aroma permeates from this brew, a bit of spice as well
Appearance: It pours a clear orange-brown color with a medium fluffy white head and some lace
Flavor: Flavor is similar to the nose, a sweet and bready taste, not huge, but nice enough
Palate: This beer drinks alright, not the most exciting mouthfeel, a bit on the thin side
Overall Impression: This is a decent Oktoberfest lager, but nothing more then that. Definitely a nice this to drink this time of year, but there isn’t much that would make this one more then decent, and certainly not a lot of standout level characteristics.
