Tap at TCBW2016. Clear yellowish color, small white head. Strong apple white wineish aroma. Light-bodied to medium-bodied. White wineish, tart, green apple. Delicate sour white wine beer.

Bottle. A more or less clear one, golden in color and with a small, white head. Rather peachy aroma with some lemon juice and grapefruit. Some tart-ish hints. Fruity flavor with peaches and green grapes and some lemon. Tart and full-bodied with a soft carbonation. Lasting fruity finish with peaches and grapes. Alcohol well hidden all the way, tasteful and more or less quenching even though there’s some white sugar in the flavor. 160312

Pours clear golden with a white head. Aroma has notes of malt, dried fruits, yeast, grape, peach, some tartness and hint of alcohol. Taste is medium sweet, light bitter and light sour with a long slightly dry, tart, grape, yeasty and fruity finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Botella 37.5 cl de cervezalandia. Tomada en el momento 09..03..2016 en llamas. (r80).--rated 2000-- Color rubio dorado con espuma Blanca. Aromas y sabores finos maltosos algo dulces y con un ligero toque ácido, todo ello con una buena dosis de uvas y vinos blancos y cavas. Perfecta combinación, casi un vino, con buena sensación alcohólica desde el principio y un cuerpo medio algo espumoso, fino y fácil de beber en general. Bastante buena. Para repetir sin duda.

Tap at Bishops Arms Folkungagatan. Clear, bubbly yellow with almost no head. Fresh grape aroma with citrus, pear and lemon zest. Slightly zesty grape flavor with peach and lemon. Quite vinous, yet crisp and refreshing.

375mL bottle, pours a cloudy golden with a medium white head. Aroma brings out Belgian yeast, candied sugar and pears. Flavour brings out lots of apple and pear fruit skins, followed by candied sugar and Belgian yeast. Low-to-medium tartness. Rather sweet and abrasive on the finish, becoming a bit cloying. Decent, but needs refining.

The beer is a bright yellow gold. The liquid is quite clear. Large, white head. Lots of lacing left behind. It’s a bit fizzy but has decent retention after some bubbles blow off. The aroma has a wonderful mineral note that makes the beer stand out. I think that’s from the grapes but I’m really not sure. Earthy funk. Some apricot and lemon. Apple. The grapes add a lot. If I have a complaint, it’s that the funk and mineral are almost too clean and cheese-less, like a toned down De Cam (they pull it off better, though). Taste is mildly to moderately tart. Lots of grape and apple. Dry, minerallic finish with some astringency. Softer than expected feel. It’s a bit fizzy but not sharp in flavor or feel. Could be a touch drier. The lack of funk depth is felt more in the taste, and it just doesn’t live up to the dry, mineral promise of the aroma. Still, it’s a very enjoyable beer and a successful blending of wine and beer characteristics.

Draught @ Mikkeller Bar, Aarhus. Pours pale yellow with a very small white head, some lacings. Aroma of light sourness, malt, baking yeast, tart fruit, green apples, white wine, green grapes. Flavor is malt, light sourness, baking yeast, light bretty, tart fruity, apples, wood, wine grapes. Thin to medium body, lively carbonation, tart fruity finish. Refreshing. 311215

Bottle at the second 42nd Floor Tasting. Thanks to Ken. It pours clear pale gold with a thick, foamy white head. The nose is fresh, juicy, very winey (quelle surprise!), white grape, tangy, sour gooseberry and funk. The taste is crisp, tart, juicy, white grape, gooseberry, pear drops, apple, sherbet and fresh lemon with a dry. lemony finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Juicy, well balanced and rather quaffable. Great.
