Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a black color with a large creamy brown head that lingered and left decent lacing. The aroma was toasty and malty with vanilla and coffee. The flavor was malty and toasty with lactose, vanilla and coffee. Medium length finish. Medium body. Ok.

Deep dark brown coloured body with a thinnish, single centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of coffee, bitter malt, alcohol, raisins, earth, nuts and a little vanilla and milk sugar. Light to Medium-bodied; Assertive coffee flavour at first with a thin feeling and a lot of lactose notes right behind. Aftertaste shows a bitter coffee note, some light roasted malt, alcohol and a raisin and light pit fruit sweetness on the finish. Overall, an appropriate beer for the style that has a bit of a lacking aftertaste, but a mostly solid beer with a lot of milky flavour, but still showing coffee and chocolate notes throughout. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Whole Foods in Washington (Foggy Bottom, Eye Street NW), DC on 05-February-2015 for US$3,49 sampled at home in Washington on 07-May-2015.
