This light-bodied ale has an amazing chili aroma that jumps out at you. We infuse this beer with fresh Serrano, Habenero, Jalapeno, Anaheim, and Fresno chili peppers. Surprisingly, the chili flavor is strong but not overpowering and comes through without lending too much heat. Billy’s Chilies is a very drinkable beer and pairs perfectly with chicken, steak and especially tacos. It finishes dry with a spiciness that will leave you thirsty for more.

Comes across a little too harshly black pepper for me. If it was toned down and balanced more, it could be great. Twisted pine Boulder

On tap at GABF 16'. Pours a hazy yellow with frothy white head. The aroma is strong jalapeno peppers. Thin body, habenero dominates, lingering heat in the finish, good.

Draft pour at the Colorado Plus Pub. Rating from my notes. Pours a cloudy peach yellow color with a patchy oily head. Wonderful spicy pepper aroma. I honestly believe I can detect all 5 peppers here. It’s officially a 5 alarm beer, and I love it. Mild pepper up front with a slow transition to a spice finish. Very well done. I love pepper beers. I can’t help it. Nice sweeter balance to this. Loved it.

Sample at Kurtkeller 018: Tequila-aged and Let’s Agree to Ruin Our Evening with Pepper beers-tastic 01 on 11/04/2014. Hazy golden color with a medium foamy white head that recedes steadily. Short strings of lacing. Chili peppers and malt in the nose. Light to medium body with a fairly strong jalapeno character and some biscuit malt behind it. The finish is spicy with a peppery aftertaste. Middling one-note beer overall.

12 ounce bottle poured into a tulip. Pours a slightly hazy apricot yellow with some tiny bits of sediment and almost a finger of off-white head that doesn’t last. Light carbonation flowing up the glass. Aromas of hot peppers mainly, light citrus. Tasting notes of spicy peppers, lemon and orange citrus. Medium-light body with a semi-dry slightly spicy finish and light heat that lingers in the throat. Nowhere near as hot and spicy as Ghostface Killah.

On tap at the brewery.Aroma is very chili forward with a balanced note of green chilies and spicy chilies. Not much malt character or hops gets through the chili. Pours a slightly cloudy pale yellow with a thin white head with pretty good retention. Light lacing and no legs. Flavor is like the aroma and dominated by chili?s without much else. The chili note is complex though with spice and many different chili flavors. Light wheat notes. Mouthfeel is medium light bodied with medium carbonation. Spice is pretty high upfront but it doesn?t linger too badly. Light bitterness. Mouthfeel is light bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall an enjoyable chili beer with a lot of chili character. The base beer is fairly lacking, but I think that was purposeful considering how light of a base beer they chose. The chili complexity is really nice though and not one dimensional at all.

Bottle at the Great Charlotte green chili food and drink orgy. Hazy pale yellow color, small white head. Aroma of chili flesh and black pepper. Taste is steady heat, light body. Nice aroma, but one-sided flavor.

Location: 12oz bottle from Total Wine, 5/19/13

Aroma: The nose is pretty much a medly of peppers, almost like a garden salsa or something
Appearance: It pours an unclear yellow color with a tiny white head and almost no lace
Flavor: Peppers come through more spicy in the taste, with some malty and earthy undertones
Palate: This one is fairly light bodied, with average-plus carbonation, and a spicy, tingly finish
Overall Impression: Interesting and weird stuff, but this absolutely hits the mark for what was promised on the bottle. It makes me want to make/eat some sort of fresh veggie salsa, but I'm not sure it's something I have that much interest in drinking. Still, all kinds of credit for being unique.
