It takes the right ingredients, people and processes to nail the complex balance of two-row barley, zesty Saaz hops and lager yeast. Secondary fermentation creates natural carbonation that delivers soft notes of fresh-cut straw and flowering herbs. In the end, this bright and refreshingly clean American craft pilsner is our go-to when the sun is shining and makes us happy when skies are gray.

12 oz can purchased as a single at Hyde Park Wine and Spirits in Cincinnati, Ohio. The pour is a clear golden with fine carbonation bubbles rising up to build a 1/2 inch white head. The aroma is clean and fresh cereal cracker malt along with straw, hay and floral hops. The taste is a nice blend of the cereal cracker malt, the straw hops, and a big mineral clean dry finish. The palate is medium bodied with active carbonation and a dry grass mineral finish. Nice one.

Bottle. Pours clear light yellow with a tiny head. Aroma of grass and wheat. Taste is lightly flowery wheat. Boring, nothing new here.

12 ounce bottle. Bright yellow gold color. Small creamy white head disappears quickly. Nice grainy malt nose has a fresh Saaz hop bouquet. Crisp tangy Pilsner malt flavor. Soft on the palate, refreshing and drinkable.

Deaughg @ Albion. Clear pale yellow with small white foamy head, faint doughy aroma, high carbonation, bitterish yeast taste, abrupt finish with enduring bitterness on palate. Not a great pilsner

12 oz. can into a pilsner Canned on 04/17/15 so only 2 weeks old. I am excited to finally get to try this since I’ve heard good things a bout it for years but never saw it in NC. A: pours a pretty clear pale gold with a tall fine white head and slightly above average amount of carbonation. Very nice lacing. S: Herbal or floral hop scent with sharp malt crackers or sourdough just below. T: Crisp crackers up front. Sharp hop bite follows. Kind of spicy/peppery hop flavor. Slight biscuit note as it warms. Great balance. M: Light bodied, crisp and stiff going down. Refreshing to say the least. Nice bubble scrub. Finishes very clean and dry. O: I have to say this was worth the wait! Nice bracing, refreshing pilsner with the low ABV (4.5%) that I particularly like. Very well done. I’m glad i bought a whole 12 pack and will buy more. Excellent!

Pours an anemic pale straw from a bottle. Aroma is a sweet light floral hoppiness. Flavor is slightly skunky, might have been a shelf turd. Meh.

Can. Better Beer Of The Month Club. Clear straw color with a white head. Aroma of grains, grassy and slightly floral hops and a malty note. Slightly sweetish flavor, with grains and slightly bready/crackery malt, continues with grassy hops and a crisp bitter finish. Rather light-bodied. Decent and refreshing.

Golden clear with ok head and lacing. Some decent saaz hops. Comes together ok. Finishes with good head and lacing. Could do with more saaz though. On tap at DC Summerfest.
