A traditional Berlin-style sour wheat beer, based on the meticulous research of beer historian Ron Pattinson. Big thanks to Kristen England of Pour Decisions Brewery for all of his help along the way and to our good friend Andrew Pogue, whose test batch first inspired the idea.

Bottle courtesy of GT2, thanks! Hazy yellow color, white head. Aroma of subtle belly button. Taste is softly sour and fruity, but a bit metallic.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a clear pale gold with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a note of funky yogurt with backing light tart fruits. Flavor has a touch of the same tart yogurt note but tartness is more from fruit with a wheat backing

Sampled at GABF. Pours a hazy, light yellow with some spitty, white head. Smells like yogurt, grass, honey, meyer lemon, band aid. Big yogurt flavor, lemon, honey, grass, lavender. Full bodied, tart finish. Great lactic flavor.

Sample at GABF 10/11/2012, thanks to Bluemeow76 for assistance with note-taking. Pours a hazy golden color with a wispy white head and spotty lacing. Aroma of tart fruit and yeast. Light body with a funky fruit character and notes of sweet malt and yeast. The finish is mildly sour with a lingering tart fruit and earth aftertaste. Decent overall.

Bottle received in trade. Thank you Jeffrey! Pours still hazy golden with a very small white head that quickly dissipates without leaving any trace. Smell is tiny sour, fruity and funky with white grapes, overripe plums, dandelions, hay, lemon juice, crackers, wood, pineapple dry soil and apples. Taste is slightly sour and tiny tart with lemon juice, dry soil, white grapes, crackers, dandelions, hay, overripe pineapple, apples, lemon zest and dry wood. Mouthfeel is round, tiny tart, flat and light bodied. Finish is tiny sour and tiny tart with lemon juice, crackers, slightly dry grass, dry soil and white grapes. Nicely drinkable and most likely a great summer beer but would have liked a slightly higher carbonation.

Bottle as shown. Pours a hazy gold with small paperthin white head that diminishes to nothing. The aroma is lemon and lacto. Thin mouthfeel with a very watery lemon and some tart. Dont know if I got a bad bottle or what but this was a mess. Will have to re rate when I try this again.
