Pint on tap at Galbraith's, Auckland. Hand pull from cask. Still clear amber beer with a thin creamy white head. Fruity malty nose, a little smoke? Good lacing. Light body, sweet taste with a bitter/sour finish. Some lingering fruit too. Very typical English bitter, very good.

On handpull at Galbraith’s. Pours gold. Hazelnuts, walnuts, biscuit, little white chocolate. Very malt heavy, but nice enough.

Cask handpull at the source. Crystal clear golden color, white edge head. Aroma of subtle black pepper. Taste is pepper and straw. A classic English bitter.

Light, appley, the hop has little bitterness but lends a nice, spicy character. Very English, a real treat so far from that island.

a bit too sweet, not very bitter or dry. Not so balanced. Fairly boring, even for the style.

(Cask) Clear, deep golden with a small, off-white head. Lightly nutty nose. Light in body with your typical smooth cask mouthfeel. A little nuts and fruit but also a vague fusty edge. Dry, bitter finish. 070208

Cask at the brewpub. Deep golden. Fruity hay aroma. Sweet and malty with soft, rounded mouthfeel. Chewy with notes of ripe fruits and medium bitterness. An honest, English style bitter.
