440ml can at School of Animals, Kuala Lumpur. Poured a clear almost black colour with a mostly lasting frothy tan head. The aroma is roasty malt, grainy, bready. The flavour is moderate sweet and liqourice bitter, with a smooth, rich, roasty, liqourice, light floral, dark chocolate, liqourice bitter palate. Medium bodied with average to soft carbonation.

Pint at Portsider in Port Chalmers. Hoppy oatmeal stout, nose is roasty coffee with light chocolate. Black with a medium, heavy lacing tan head. Flavor is like 90% dark chocolate, lots of bitter with only a light bit of sweetness. Good thing I love chocolate above 60%!

Bottled. A black beer with a thin brown head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, chocolste, and citrus fruits. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt, chocolate, hops, and citrus fruits, leading to a bitter finish.

On tap at Brewers Cooperative. Pour black. Aroma is coffee and toast. Flavour is coffee, roasted malts and leading into oats in the finish. Thick and luxurious and delicious.

Bottle. Very dark brown with a light tan head. Aroma of bitter oranges, ash, coffee, dark fudge, some berries. Really luscious oaty texture, lowish carbonation. Sweet fudge and mocha, strong singed flavours, some oily citrus. Bitter chocolate finish. Intense flavours for 6%. Assertive burnt and ashy flavours but enough sweetness and lovely smooth texture make it work for me.

Big black beer with a massive beige head. Aroma is relatively hoppy, spicy, fruity and velvety. Taste has also something soft going on, maybe coming from oatmeal. Strong roasted flavours that are nicely balanced with malt backbone and fragrant hops.

Dark brown color. Very big oatmeal and roasted malt nose. A bit sweet. Medium body, chocolate cookies with lots of oatmeal. Very smooth body. Really well balanced and very enjoyable. Long lingering chocolate and oatmeal finish with moderate bitter finish.
