Poured from 22 oz bottle dated 3/15/13. Dark cola pour with a nice one finger mocha head with nice lacing. Aromas of caramel chocolate coffee and bourbon. Taste is surprisingly good for 2 years and 9 months. Notes of caramel bourbon and a hint of burnt roasted malt/coffee. Not bad.

Bottle. Pours a dark brown with medium tan head that lasts. The aroma is chocolate, roast, toffee. Thin mouth, brown sugar, roast, vanilla, hides alcohol well, very nice.

22 oz.Bottle purchased at Julio’s shared by Eric S. Bottle date of 03/15/2013. Color is pitch black with a very oily film when swilled around the snifter. Aroma is mild coffee bean, chocolate and subtle bourbon character.

The flavor is mostly bourbon with the coffee bean almost completely dead at this point. Flavor still has a nice chocolate brownie batter and moderate amount of bourbon barrel. Body is really nice for a porter, the texture is oily like the swirl around the snifter. Very mellow alcohol after the year plus age. No oxidation and the flavor is above average, nice.

Bottle from Andover Liquors. Pours a solid black with a smallish tan head that holds some retention. Aromas of brown sugar, milk chocolate, fudge, coffee, a touch of alcohol and bits of oak and vanilla. The flavor is sweet with lots of dark sugars, milk and dark chocolates, bits of dark dried fruits, and a bit of wood. Light earthy citrus hop flavor. There is a strong alcohol presence that burns on the way down allowing me to trace each sip on its journey towards my stomach. Thick body with a light level of carbonation and a sweet thick oily syrupy mouthfeel. This beer smells really good but the alcohol presence in the flavor keeps me from really enjoying this beer.

Bottle thanks to a trade! Pours black with a yellowish brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a nice bitter roasted malts with a good amount of coffee and a nice supporting bourbon note. Flavor has a nice roasted malt and coffee combination with vanilla and bourbon in the finish.

Pours deep mahogany into a tulip. Mocha head with medium retention recedes to mottle rim. Oak, bourbon and toffee aromas. Thick with oak, pit fruit, coffee, molasses and chocolate front to back and into the hot bourbon finish.
