The name Pyrus originates from the genus of the pear tree. Pyrus is our Fall and Winter saison brewed with pear juice, whole white peppercorns, and the zest of fresh oranges. Pyrus pours a hazy golden hue, with aromas of pear, citrus, and spice. A perfect compliment to seasonal fare.

Sampled from the tap at the brewery. Pours a clear gold with a white head that dissipates quickly to the edges. Aroma has some earthy and flora yeast with a bit of pear underlying. Flavor has a light sweet grain with some pear and flora underlying.

Draft - Banana, bubblegum and some spice. Clear golf with a decent white head. As it smells, which is a hef. Not really a good saison.

22oz bomber shared by Madbeerbaron. The pear sweetens it out, but it is subtle. Infected American Sour tones. Not overly impressive.

750ml bottle pours a hazy yellow with some very frothy, white head. Nice nose, musty, hay, a little green bell pepper, light spice, brie rind. Flavor is sweet, malty, grassy, dusty, floral. Crisp finish.

Bomber. Pyrus pours a hazy light straw color with a massive head and aromas of honey, pears, grass/hayfield and maybe white grape juice. Flavor is sweet and sharp, with an almost boozy edge to it that I often find in French versions of the Saison genre. Even at 6% there is a little warmth, but more than that an alcoholic sharpness that doesnโ€™t sit quite right. It seems to abate a bit as the beer warms though and the honey/pear sweetness comes through much cleaner. Not my favorite, but decent enough. Oddly, I donโ€™t pick up on either the orange zest or the pepper...
