Brewing innovation is about asking "what if?". What if we gave an IPA a new identity and used some of our favorite West Coast hops, with their grapefruit, piney, & tropical fruit character, in a lager? The result is this boldly hoppy & and flavorful brew with the crisp smoothness of a lager. Cheers!

bottle - Pours clear light copper with a one finger white head. It has some good grapefruit character in the aroma. The flavor is moderately bitter with citrus hops, a touch of pine, and ample sweet malt balancing it. Itβs medium bodied and quite good.

Grabbed the Hop Project mix sixes from Duane Reed. Pours clear copper with one finger soapy white head that dissipates quickly. Great nose of grapefruit. Tastes of tropical fruit, grapefruit, bready, light tea leaves, and cloves. Very drying and smooth.

Bottle with a best before of October 2013. Pours with a crystal clear golden orange hue with a medium sized, tight, bone hued head with some very solid lace. Aromas are of pine, light tropical fruit, mango, grapefruit and citrus. Light resiny cohumulone, medium strong malt background that is mostly toasty and biscuity, a touch of apple as well. Flavors are bready, toasty, biscuity. Mild bitterness, some fruity notes. I wish there was just a bit more hop flavor and a bit more grassy dry hop character. Bitter balance is spot on though. Dry. Neutral balance. Livelier carbonation. Quite a decent beer overall, but could be a bit more hoppy.

Bottle. Hazy light amber body. Frothy, off-white head, rapidly diminishing. Aroma of leafy hops, toasted grain, grass, lemon peel, spice. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Taste of pine, resin. Aftertaste of raw grain and fresh, leafy hops. Thought it could be cleaner, crisper.

12oz bottle pours crystal clear deep gold with copper hues and supporting an off white head of foam. The aroma offers up sweet malts, citrus hop notes and a fairly lager yeasty esteriness. Pretty nice. The taste starts with citrus bitter tangerine hops and then moving into complimentary grainy malt notes and sweet lager yeast fruity esters. It comes together nicely and the sweet esters are kept in check and only add a small facet to the flavor experience rather than take it over.

(bottle) clear golden orange colour with a tall yellowish head; aromas of grapefruit, pine; balanced flavour with a long light bitter finish; certainly beats an average lager
