Our Robust Porter is brewed with eight malts to make a roasty brew with coffee and chocolate in the nose, balanced by complex caramel malt flavor and a medium full, malty mouthfeel. One of the five beers we had on draft the day we opened!

Bottle split at CCii, thanks to shartshorne, 05/03/16. Light black with a khaki head. Nose is chocolate biscuit, roast malt, toffee. Taste comprises a good roasty coating, chocolate, toffee, molasses. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, light spice and more roasted notes in the close. Decent porter.

Bottle shared at the Cotteridge Convention - 2016 edition. Cheers and Tom Hanks! Pours clear, deep brown with a creamy, beige head. The nose holds earth, chocolate and burnt pine. Medium sweet flavour with cocoa, light bitter earth, pine, citrus rind. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Moderately sweet to conclude, with good hop expression, more pine, earth. Good stuff overall.

Bottle at the 2016 Cotteridge Convention thanks to Shane. It pours dark brown with a small beige head. The aroma is bitter – sweet, earthy roast, dark fruits, burnt pine, chocolate and tobacco. The taste is crisp, bitter, earthy roast, wood, charred notes, burnt brown bread and a hint of cardboard with a dry, malt-driven finish. Medium body and moderate, foamy carbonation. Didn’t really stand out for me, came across as a run of the mill porter.

Porter Blind Tasting #6. Bubbly head that fades. A slight fruit yeast character (cherry). A very faint ashtray. A lighter porter than the previous in the blind tasting. Also a less dry finish than the others, which I like.

Draft pour pint at the 192 lake trail taproom. From notes. Rating #1955, the year that brought us Disneyland, and Kermit the frog. Near black pour with a cola fizz head. Big toasty malt aroma. Very nice mild roast flavor throughout. High carb, very easy drinking porter. Low bitter on the finish. Another solid offering from Reubens.
