Armand’4 Herfst Oude Geuze is a blend of 1, 2 and 3 year old Lambic, brewed, aged, blended and bottled by Armand Debelder. This one-time and possibly the last bottling comes in a fancy Asti Spumante Champagne bottle. Armand only used Challenger hops in this brew. He’s in fact the only lambic-brewer to use Challenger hops to make his Geuze. 60 % malted barley, 40 % wheat, aged hops and water. Each season’s geuze has an unique and different blend.

Bottle at "30 år av surt", on May 5, 2012 in Göteborg. Orangée brumeuse, col épais beige. Arôme de foin, brett allant vers ananas, poussiéreux, grains. En bouche, palais très sec, pointe de vinaigre, froment, carbonnation bien en avant, touche aigre que je trouve plus présente que dans les trois autres versions essayées lors de cette dégustation. Pointe d’épices voire de picotements sur la langue, grains et un léger profile houblonné sec citronné ajoutant en amertume.

75 cL bottle. Pours hazy orange with a huge white head. Aroma is citric and almost acetic. Wooden, smooth fruity and citric. Dry and smooth, overall fruity and elegant. Citric and smooth fruity into a mellow finish.

Hazy orange with a huge rough off white head. Sour nose with wood, hay, sour apples, brett and leather. Flavor was a bit more sour than lente and zomer. Found notes of wood, hay, leather and lemon. Finished dry and sour.

Bottle 75 cl. Courtesy of yespr. Pours a cloudy amber with a small off-white head. Fruity yet tart nose with quite some Brett. Medium body, extreme carbonation (comes with a killer cork) a dry woodiness - the barrel really comes through in this one. Tart, heavy astringent tannins on the teeth. Quite some sulphur. Bitter and tart finish. 080512

Bottled. An unclear dark amber beer with a huge orangey head - over carbonated and explosive when opened. The aroma has notes of brettanomyces, lemons, wood, dusty hops. The flavor is acidic and sweet with notes of horse blanket, alcohol, caramel, dusty hops, vinegar, and lemons, leading to a tart finish.

Bottled, thanks baggio! Cloudy amber, small head. Aroma of hay, cobwebs and lemon. Medium bodied with well rounded mouthfeel. Sweaty old hay, barnyard, lemon and vinegar. Complex, yet relatively mild.

Bottle at RBNAG-11. Deep golden colour with an off-white head. Aroma is sourness, wood, apple, fruit, acidic, funk. Flavour is sour, wood, apple, fruit, acidic, funk. Nice beer.
