2013 Hop Swap boasts Cascade, Simcoe, Amarillo and Falconer’s Flight hops. A hoppolicious American Ale with light body and hoppy dryness, the pine and citrus notes of Cascade and Amarillo hops blend perfectly with grapefruit & tropical fruit aromas from Simcoe and Falconer’s Flight. On tap at Vermont Tap House, Williston, VT.
This was poured into a pint glass.
The appearance was a glossy burnt orange to yellow color with a thin white foamy head that dissipated immediately.
The smell had bittersweet orange, lemon and melon combining nicely.
The taste was pretty much the same. Light citrusy aftertaste. Semi-dry on the finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Carbonation runs light. Good bitterness on my tongue.
Overall, I say this was a nice AIPA that I could have again.

Four pack purchased at Craft Beer Cellar, Portsmouth, NH. 2015 edition. Orange Amber color with fast dying head. Aroma is scallions, mild onion and fresh cut grass clippings.

This years hop has to be Mosaic. The onion, scallion and grass flavors are completely focused through the sip with just enough pale malt to give a backbone for balance. The bitterness is very low and displays a dry texture. This brewery has done a few different additions of this beer and all of the single hop variations are under this one entry. This one showcases the Mosaic hop very nicely.

Bottle picked up today from the Bodega Lightly hazy golden color with a smallish bubbly white head. Aromas of bready biscuity malt with a fair amount of pine resin and dankness. Light orange and tropical fruitiness provide some nice balance. The flavor is sweet bread and biscuits with a hint of honey. Moderate resinous and tropical fruit hop flavors with a mild bitterness. Medium body with a moderate level of carbonation. Decent brew but the flavors have me wondering the true age of this bottle.

Keg at the Portland branch. Pours clear, yellow-gold with a lasting, creamy white head. Nice dank citrus nose, some pee, mango, grapefruit. Medium sweet flavor with nice tropical fruit notes, mango, kiwi, papaya, grapefruit. Medium bodied with fine, smooth carbonation. Mellow resins to finish, lots of tropical fruit hops, balancing pale malt sugars, subtle alcohol boost. Very solid IPA.
