Bottle at home. Aroma is tart red fruits, sour cherries, raspberries and other kinds of berries. Flavour is sugary sweet, nicely tart and mildly sour. Body is medium. Nice Fruit Beer, delivers on the cherries and berries, would have liked a little more sourness to balance the sweetness though.

Bärig precis i inledningen, men slår sen över i ganska stora toner av bittermandel. Mja, lite för mycket som händer här.

Beer #11 of 17 for each day of the 2018 Winter Olympics - One for A Country Participating in the Games: #10 - Belgium While it wasn't difficult to find a new Belgium beer, their Winter Athletetics leave a bit to be desired. Deep dark brown coloured body with a nice, relatively quick-dying tan head, about two centimetres tall at first that fades to just about nothing. Aroma of fresh tart fruits with full cherries, blueberries, raspberries and a bunch of blackberries in the mix, all with a big malt backbone, some pungent yeast, a touch of alcohol and some lighter sweet elements as well. Medium-bodied; Assertive malt flavour at first with a good yeastiness, some lighter earthy notes and a lot of very nice and not too pungent soured fruit flavours with cherries by far the strongest, but also with some blueberries and pears. Aftertaste is rich and robust with some nice sugars, a touch of yeast and bread, but the lightly tarted fruits make an excellent approach for the start of a sour or the complexity of not just another fruit beer. Overall, a very nice, well-balanced, between malty/yeastie, fruity, sweet and soured flavours that make this an excellent choice for any of those styles, plus as an extra benefit to have lower alcohol than most from this great country! I sampled this 33 cL bottle purchased from New Beer Distributors in New York, New York on 03-December-2016 for US$4,25 sampled at home in Washington on 19-February-2018 a few days before returning to the store.

Small off-pink head over clear purple-ish to chestnut beer. Faintly sourish-fruity nose, hint at acidity already here. (Sweet) billberry, spicy background, pears indeed. Finish has some cider-like features with a little caramel. Good balance. Light body, faint stickyness, good carbonation. Rather good one. But - what's all the secrecy concerning the ingredients? Txs to Stef! 6/4/7/3/14

4oz sample. Is never buy a bottle due to my preconceived notions but in a sampler it's cool. Fortunately, I am surprised. It's an interesting and confusing mix of juice, deep berries, thick malt, and tartness. Smells of juice, real berry, underfermented malts, and berry tartness. Flavor is calmer with drying and tart very finish and beer and juice mix. Surprisingly fun for me.
