From tap at De Heeren van Liedekercke. Pours clear, golden with a foamy, white head that leaves some lacing. The aroma contains hops, grain, yeast, grass and pepper. It tastes light sweet and medium bitter, with a dry and hoppy finish. Soft fizzy carbonation, slick texture and medium body. An ideal apéritif at the restaurant, but nothing special.

House beer of De Heeren Van Liedekercke, formerly made by Kerkom, with Aalsterse hops (a remnant of an all but disappeared hop culture in Eastern Flanders). Rocky, sticky, snow white head, orangey peach blond colour, hazy. Aroma of grapefruit, walnuts, coriander, white pepper, bread, cheese, apple; citrussy onset, nutty and caramelly maltiness, fruity, a bit yeasty, grassy and peppery hop bitterness in the finish, quite long. Not too exciting, especially considering it is made for one of Belgium’s best known beer restaurants.
