Keg at Borefts Day 1 22/09/2017. A translucemt gold orange coloured pour with a sticky white head. Aroma is nutty, seaweed, earthy, eggy, rice pudding, weird. Flavour is composed of spicy hop, alcohol, rice pudding, egg , woody apple./ Palate is semi swet, grainy, highish carbonation. I don;t like it.

Tap at Craftheads event. Seems to have mellowed. Some big pure alcohol in the nose, lots of grapefruit still, but booze is concealed a little. Minerals and pineapple. Great stuff. Not exactly a quaffer, but surprisingly drinkable. Skirts the line between barley wine and dipa.

Borefts IX. Day 1. Keg. Hazy gold beer, good while head. Smooth and semi dry palate, decent fine carbonation. Soft malts, nice light sweetness. The mid has an unusual spicy flavour and a touch of something sake like! Ripe citrus and resinous citrus. Spicy floral finish hrings a whisper of apple. Unusual dipa. Goes down all right just the same.

Draft at Craft Heads during the Shiga Kogen Tap Takeover event. Dark orange with off-white head. Aromas of caramel, malt, light floral. Tastes of caramel, toffee, floral, pine. Medium body with a dry finish. Pretty much a barleywine to me.

Draft at Bungalow’s 1st Anniversary Shiga Kogen Tap Takeover event. A nice orange gold color. Shared by Yamaoka-San. A boozy malty aroma, the body is smooth but you definitely taste the alcohol with a predominant whiskey flavor, I felt it was similar to Jack Daniel’s. Quite nice but I think I prefer it in small doses.

Caramel and crystal malts dominate the nose, with just some faint fruitiness. The mouth is big malty and sticky. Alcohol well hidden not sweet and moderately hoppy. Big resins hoppy finish. Drinks amazing for 11%, but not my exact cup of tea as I don’t think 11% ipAs work in general. Still good stuff . Grapefruit and weed become more apparent as things warm up

Bottle at RBJG2. Cloudy orange amber color. Aoma of slightly sour tropical fruit. Taste is bitter vanilla and lemon.

Draught at Beer Belly. Cloudy orange-amber with lace. Estery nose, peaches, grapefruit, light tropical fruit, a touch of mango. Nice fruit flavor, bitter bitterness and alcohol heat as well. These overpower the flavors a bit at first, but they come out more later. Nice, soft, persistent, peppery carbonation goes really well with the heat and hops. Still too young (though aged for 9 months!).
