Draught at Craft Heads. Dark brown/black colour with small beige head. Aroma is lots of pine hops. Taste is bit creamy, bit coffee, bit bitter. Nice and prickly in the mouth. Intense creamy coffee finish which fades into bitterness. I like the name too.

4 oz pour on draft at GBD in DC. Black with light tan head. Aromas of roast, pine, toffee, light dark chocolate. Tastes of floral notes, pine, roast. Medium body with a dry finish.

12 ounce bottle from goodbeer.jp. Pours a dark mahogany color with a medium grey head. A rich nose of chocolate and dank hops. The flavor is earthy, some smoke, dark bitter chocolates, American hops, very dark rich. Unique and tasty.

Draft. Dark brown color, thick tan head, solid lacing. Aroma of bright pine, grass, very nice! Taste is dark roasty coffee grounds. Good example of the style.

Bottle at Shinshu Osake Mura. Black colour with a large beige head. Aroma of hops, citrus. Flavour is some chocolate, hops.

Draft at Bungalow, I guess the beer has changed or was served too cold because I got zero malty sweetness from the dark malts. It basically looked like a porter/stout/dark beer but tasted like a bnormal IPA. I was disappointed as I was expecting more of a stylistic blend... I am still searching for a good black IPA...

awesome roasty malt backbone, full body with fairly aggressive hopping. Both the stout character and ipa character can really shine. Well balanced, dry and very enjoyable

23/03/2012 330ml bottle (thanks KyotoLefty!). Bevuta alla Tana. Nera, abbastanza densa, quasi impenetrabile, bel cappello di schiuma color beige, molto abbondante e persistente. Aroma intensissimo di luppolo, pino, resina, sentori di malti tostati, caffè. In bocca è molto amara, luppolatissima, caffé, un pizzico di cioccolata, luppolo. Corpo medio, carbonazione abbondante. Non sono un amante del genere, ma questa è veramente una ottima black IPA.

Draught at Tadgs. Fruity nose, with chocolate, citrus, pepper. Nice and complex, soft. Nice chocolate and caramel touch to the flavor, good hops, no0t at all roasty but like a good IPA with some chocolate added, the way I like this style. Great.
