Location: 12 oz bottle from Buy Rite, 6/19/15
Aroma: It has a nice coffee/mocha aroma, a bit of molasses, earthy notes, and roast
Appearance: Dark brown color with a thin tan-to-light brown colored head and light, drippy lace
Flavor: The taste is pretty similar to the aroma, just slightly more bitter and roasty
Palate: The body is medium-plus, with a decently smooth feel, and a fairly short finish
Overall Impression: Did sort of an impromptu coffee beer tasting today, drinking this after Whole Hog Espresso Stout. After that one, I just wanted to make sure I could still smell a coffee beer. Anyway, this is one was the better of the two. I enjoyed the mocha-ness of the aroma slightly more than I enjoyed the flavor, but it is a solid overall beer all around.

12 ounce bottle from House of 1000 Beers, New Kensington. Pours a dark brown color with a thin creamy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of well balanced coffee and chocolate with some mild roast and earth. The taste is bitter roast, bitter coffee, bitter chocolate, a mild ashy note, herbal hops and a creamy finish. Medium bodied, decent balance. Quite nice.

Bottle courtesy of Eric at Churchkey, thanks! Almost a gusher, but not quite. Dark maroon brown color, massive brown head that settles to a tanned inverted nipple. Aroma of coffee grounds. Taste is coffee and cocoa. Not bad.

12 ounce bottle. Pours a deep black color with a medium grey head. A smooth roast and coffee nose. The flavor is good: dark fruit, coffee, roast, some ash. Very clean. Nice.

Bottle @ home, courtesy of LIVEFAST. Another cool bonus from Alan! Thanks! Deep brown appearance with a brown head. Roasty, acidic, coffee, deep chocolate malty aroma. Roasty dark chocolate malty, acidic coffee flavor leads to a tangy tart fruitiness. Light nuttiness. The coffee flavor is a little messed up which kind of ruins the beer. I’d like to try it again if they get this figured out.

Not sure the low score on this one. Aroma is cocoa, coffee, roasted malts. Medium, carbonated body. Flavor has plenty of coffee, cocoa, light malts, and a healthy dose of citrus hops. Fun.

Just a fine sterile stout aroma. Make no mistake, this is a robust porter as the picture on the label infers. Hardley any pressure when I pop the cap. Big black pour that rivals some pretty good stouts. Some sizzle on the tonguie. Big porter personality with a sharp coffee kick in the ass for a finish. A little too strong for what I like in a porter. Bold , but on style if you are leaning toward beefy porters

Sampled on draft at the Rivertowne Pub this beer poured thick and black with a large brown head that lingered. The aroma was sweet and malty with moderate notes of cocoa and coffee. The flavor was sweet cocoa, vanilla and coffee with a toasty and roasty malt undertone. The finish was long and toasty with lingering cocoa and coffee. Fairly full bodied and smooth. Well done.
