A ghostly apparition reportedly skirts the shores of New Haven harbor; a whispy widow eternally searching for her lost-at-sea husband. It is truly a sad tale of loss. But hey! At least she's got a beer named after her, huh? Our flagship beer pours in with a citrus, fruity nose and a crisp floral finish that is well-balanced with its Pilsner, Munich, and Crystal malt blend.

Hops - Columbus, Centennial, Amarillo, Citra.

Many thanks to Peter! Floral nose. The beer starts intense floral. Fresh with pine and resin. Moderate bitter, slightly grainy with a fruity dry bitter aftertaste. Nice pine and resin in the back. Dry and bitter. Great.

Pours light amber with a thick white head. Subtle aroma. Taste is light and hoppy, some notes of grass. Palate includes lemongrass hops. Refreshing and drinkable.

On tap at Cask Republic - New Haven, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out piney hops, with some earthiness and toasted biscuity malt. Flavour is along the same lines, with fresh piney hops, crisp biscuity malt and a touch of citrusy bitterness. Crisp and bold. Very good.

12 oz. can and a fresh 32 oz. growler from the source compared side-by-side. I understand so many low ratings for this IPA. It really doesn’t sit well in the can. Notes are just from the growler example. Aroma was mild pine but not particularly distinct. Taste has some caramel and toffee backbone and bready malts. Hop profile is pine, floral, grapefruit and very old school. Body was pretty average. Overall, a pretty standard IPA from start to finish. My suggestion is go draft or growler fill only on this one.
