DC Brau brewer Jeff Hancock fittingly named Colliding Hemispheres as a tribute to its ingredients—New Zealand and Australian hops from hop supplier Hop Union, North and American Malts from hop supplier Briess, and DC's house Belgian Abbey yeast.

Couple samples at the brewery, pours a translucent brown with some creamy, off white head. Nose is mild, malt, cracker, a little sugar, slightly floral, slight citrus. Nose is a little all over the place. Flavor is very crackery, malt, a little coffee, toast, some citrus pith. Dry finish. I missed the nuances of their Belgian house strain. Almost a porter, beyond a brown ale.

From growler provided by Travlr, Thanks Gene! Poured a dark brown color with a small tan head. Aroma is a bit funky - wasn’t sure about this one, However, I enjoyed the flavor quite a bit more. Notes of Belgian sugars, sweet malts. This one had a sweet finish to this particular one.

Draft at the source. Cloudy dark maroon color, large fluffy brown head with decent retention and solid lacing. Aroma of slightly funky cocoa, coffee grounds. Taste is roasty yet creamy dark milk chocolate and caffe macchiato. Tasty.
