The brewers of New South twist tradition a bit with this uncommon ale. With its pleasant bitterness, sturdy alcohol content and intense hop aromas. This unfiltered copper colored ale is everything an I PA should be. With its dense head and creamy smoothness it is quite unlike any taste you’ve ever experienced.

12oz can pours a lightly hazy burnt orange with some sudsy white head. Old school nose, grain and some crystal malt, pine and soap and citrus rind. Flavor is malty and soapy and pithy. Old school. Dry and bitter finish. Decent. Reminiscent.

A golden ipa with a thin lacing white head. In aroma, sweet caramel malt with light grassy floral hops, light and smooth. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity caramel malt with light grassy floral hops, grapefruit pulp, nice and smooth, light berries in finale. On tap at Mellow Mushroom Myrtle Beach.

Location: Draft at T-Bonz Charleston, 12/8/12

Aroma: This beer has some caramel and some fruity notes on nose
Appearance: This one pours a clear caramel color with a small head and some sticky lace
Flavor: This one is medium sweet, a little hoppy, and it has a mid bitter finish to it
Palate: It has a light-medium body, a fairly soft carbonation, and a dry finish
Overall Impression:  This is kind of a mediocre micro-style IPA. It is not a real winner of an IPA, but it is not terrible either. I can’t imagine ordering it if anything better was available.

Nitro pour at T-Bonz in Charleston. Slightly hazy orange-tan, thin creamy head. Quite watery and English tasting, mild and sesionable. Fishy toasty malt. Not so memorable at all. Pretty tame.

Brewgrass 2009 Nitro Light gold with a lasting off-white head. Very light floral hop aroma. Bitter with too little malt balance. Neds a bit more malt and a lot more hops to balance this out.
