Rosé Wild Ale
We trekked to Penticton to pick up whole Pinot Noir grapes from our pals' vineyard. The grapes underwent carbonic maceration and a natural fermentation. We added a blend of barrel aged wild ale and fresh farmhouse ale to co-ferment with the grapes for many months. Glou-glou!

473mL can. Pours a clear ruddy orange with a small white head. Earthy yeast, some must, and grape skins on the nose. Flavour is fairly muted; earthy yeast, a bit of must, tart grape skins; the vinous component does have a rosé character. The nose is pleasant, but the flavour has a bit more of juice quality. Pleasant, drinkable, has the right components, but stops a bit short of the finish line.

Poured from 473mL can. Light copper brown with small off white head. Soft grape with some light wheat int he base and a hint of tartness. Drinkable, but unmemorable.

473mL can, pours a hazy dark amber orange with a small white head. Aroma is pretty muted, not really revealing the grape skins beyond an earthy, muffled character, along with gentle wild yeast. Flavour is thankfully better, with still an earthy character that maybe doesn’t express the grapes as well as possible; there’s some nice tannins and gentle wild yeast expression. It’s good and appreciate such efforts, but they’ve got a ways to go to produce wild ales that match the quality of the elites.
