Clear blond colour. Overall this has a good balance. There’s a soft maltiness at first. A lightly citric taste then a moderately dry bitter finish.

Floral bready aroma. Bronze coloured a little rich on the palate and dry with a bitter and slightly earthy finish.

Normal 500ml bottle, best before April 2008, drank in June 2007. Poured into a Bateman’s half pint sleeve glass (twice), it looked very drinkable. Light amber with a white foaming head, which sadly rushed to the side of the glass and clung there through the drink. The aroma was of hops, malt and barley at first, but as the beer warmed up in the afternoon sun, toffee and caramel esters came into the smell. I thought the taste was delightful, a sweet complexed flavour of toffee and molasses, which blended in with the more normal English Ale characteristic tastes. The mouthfeel was full , but not overly, the aftertaste becomes dryer than the initial flavours would indicate. A very drinkable beer, I would love to try this on cask, if it is available. I have visited the brewery and the hall used as the brewery tap, a lovely place to drink their beers. I shall see if this is on tap if I ever get down to their place again.

Originally rated August 2004. This is the second beer I have tasted from St. Peters Brewery, and I have to say that both experiences were quite special. It is always a pleasure to have a brew from a flask shaped bottle. Poured a light hazy amber colour with a good foamy white head. The lacing that came out of it was very original looking. After that, a thin creamy head was left over the beer. Hmmm, this beer is brewed from organic ingredients. The smell was earthy and remeinded me of some dry cat food (not unpleasant), taste was grassy and fruity on the slight bitterness. Had a clean aftertaste. Again, quite an original beer from St. Peters, but always drinkable. You must never stop at the first sip with one of their beers.

Last resort at grocery. Pours golden with light soapy head. Taste is bitter, grains, cereal, light citrus. Refreshing enough

Not much head on this one for a bitter, that’s probably its weakest point. Could have a touch more bitter hops, as well. Beers that need to market themselves as organic tend to annoy me as such - it should be obvious if you intend a level of quality. That aside, its not bad drink.

Little darker than normal pilsener, kind of deep orange color. Faint smell, pretty boring actually. Light bitter finish.
