Cask at Hops, Crewe. Pours a slightly hazy golden yellow with a small scummy off-white head and good lacing. There’s malts, grass and herbs in the aroma with just a touch of spice as well. In the mouth it starts off slightly bitter but this does gradually increase. There is also the expected Burton Union deep creamy texture. Flavours are mainly malts and home with a fair dollop of citrus and hints of oats and bergamot. Finish is somewhat dry. This is quite nice but also somewhat disappointing.

Cask at the Ship & Mitre, Liverpool, 31/07/2026.
Almost clear light golden blonde with an off white cap that escapes to a swirl.
Nose is grass, mellow citric, herb.
Taste comprises pale malts, citric tinged straw, toasted grains, herb.
Medium bodied, soft carbonation, drying close with modest hop bitterness.
So so affair ... I expected more from both of these breweries, tres pedestrian.

Foamy white head on a finely carbonated unclear dull golden coloured body.
Spiced, yeast & vegetal aroma.
Medium bodied, foamy with a cloying back.
Stone fruit, herbal, grassy, yeast & oat tastes with a spiced fruity finish.
Similar to a Saison - Very moorish.

Tap at Thornbridge. Light haze on pale gold. Lively carbonation keeps a healthy dense white going the course. Nose has the yeasty vibe a beer brewed on the Union kit seems to give. Clean fresh grain. Hops are lemony and grassy. Very lean bitterness. Quite dry. Drinks extremely easy overall. Crisp and refreshing. Lean bitter finish. Fruity and yeasty throughout and sinks with little effort. Nice one.
