Bomber. Pours opaque black with brown edges and a beige head that falls into a ring of big-bubbly foam fairly quick. Aroma consists of doughy bread, baked bread, faint raspberry (I’m thinking jam), molasses. Taste starts out sweet, turns tart and finishes savory and bitter; very stout-like. There’s only a hint of raspberry in the flavor, making me think this belongs in the stout category rather than fruit beer category. Good beer, but it seems these Apocalypse beers are getting less interesting as we reach the Mayan end of the world date. The best two so far (that I’ve had) were #4 and #7. Since then, they’ve been a little dull. Like a good book, these beers should be rising towards a climax, meaning they should get increasingly more interesting as we get closer to December 21, not get more prosaic! But that’s just the geek in me talking. Addendum: raspberry definitely gets more pronounced as the glass warms up. I still think this belongs in the stout category, though. Or foreign stout, because as someone else already mentioned, this tastes like Dragonstooth with added raspberry.

Draught. Black pour with thin beige head. Light raspberry aroma. Malty stout flavour, this tastes like a stout with a raspberry edge to the flavour. Hoppish finish with more raspberry
