Black pour with a medium foamy tan head that recedes steadily to a film. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee and chocolate. Full-bodied with a roasty coffee and malt character, with some bittersweet chocolate and earthy hops in the background. The finish is roasty with a mocha aftertaste. Pretty good all around.

A deep dark stout with a thin brown head. In aroma, nice bitter chocolate with light coffee, molasses, light ash, dry and powdery. In mouth, a sweet chocolate with loads of coffee grind, light oak, alcohol, licorice, a bit harsh. On tap at WOB Charlotte.

Bomber from Brawley’s. Pours a dark brown color with a large foamy brown head. Good head retention. Aroma of big chocolate and coffee notes, some coffee grounds, some roast, herbal hops and just the faintest hint of vanilla. The taste is coffee, roasted malts, citrus hops, bitter chocolate. Medium bodied, slight lingering bitterness. No hint of the high alcohol content. Nice beer. 50th Imperial Porter Rating!!!

Updating this from a draft at Dandelion Market, 12/1/14
My old score seems to be from a different beer, so much so it makes me wonder if the recipe has changed over the last two years? Anyway, this is now a coffee forward beer. There’s sweetness present, but the coffee is definitely in the lead. I prefer this, it is more in balance.
New score: 3.5: 7/3/7/4/14

Location: Draft @ Growlers Pour House, 12/9/12

Aroma: The nose is light roast, with some sweet caramel and chocolate malts
Appearance: It pours a dark brown color with a small beige head and some drippy lace
Flavor: The flavor is sweet and malty, with some subtle roast, and very little bitterness
Palate: The body is light-medium, not too watery, with a creamy feel, and a fairly short duration
Overall Impression:  This is a solid Porter. It leans sweet for sure, with the roast subtle, and the bitterness basically non-existent. Not a standout, but plenty decent for what appears to be a rather small brewery.
Original score: 3: 6/3/6/3/12
