22oz bottle-shared @dmac’s by pineypower-offwhite-hazy gold. A-thin sweet lt/med malt, slight floral/spice. T-sweet/roasty-lt/med malt-caramel, 2nd floral/spice hops. Easy, nice taste.

Nice crisp orange tinted copper coloured body with a good two centimetre thick tan head. Aroma of pungent hops, a good robust malt note and a pleasant and relatively strong caramel and sugar smell - nice and strong throughout. Medium-bodied; Strong earthy maltiness up front noticeable with a pungent and very noticeable english hop flavour, strong and very tasty while being complex and not overly bitter like most american hops. Aftertaste nice and evenly distributed with malt and hops with a good sweet finish, still showing a little grassiness and peat flavours. Overall, a beer definitely worth trying if you can find it and like English Pales or American IPAs - this one is near the middle of these two categories, bordering more on the American side of things. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Whole Foods in Clarendon (Arlington), Virginia on 03-October-2012 for US$5.99 sampled at home in Washington on 22-December-2012.

22oz bottle from the brewery. Poured a mostly clear orange color with a relatively large white head. Aroma was notes of lemon, sweet malts, some grass, lemon, biscuit yeasty notes. Flavor was a bit earthy, a bit more than I wanted it to be, some caramel notes, touch of floral in there.

Whole Foods, Vienna bottle ($5): Pours a murky copper colour with an off-white head. Aroma is lemon, tea, and malts. Taste is much the same. The lemon taste was the more prominent aspect in my opinion. The malt was sufficient. I think that the low alcohol was well-covered (I thought I was drinking a much more alcoholic ale). ’Twas a nice and easy-drinking session.

Grapefruit, pine, and rosehip nose, not strong. Crystal clear copper, headless. Floral tea flavor, dried leaves, potpourri. Quite bitter and hoppy. Mouthfeel is frothy. Drinks more like an IPA, but with a lot of color. Has subtle complexities.

22oz bottle pours a clear amber with some frothy, white head. Nose is very floral, fruity, honey, light malt, flower pollen, light citrus. Flavor is similar, soft, well balanced, light citrus, sweet honey but not overly sweet, flowers, heather. Medium bodied, soft, lightly slick finish. I liked this, but to truly be sessionable it needs to be dried out a bit. Just a touch too slick and sweet on the end. Not bad though.

Bomber from Beer Run. Pours a clear amber color with a medium sized frothy tan head. Good head retention. Weak aroma with notes of floral and herbal hops, caramel malts. The taste is floral, earthy, peppery hops, caramel malts, some toasted notes, mildly fruity finish. Medium bodied, lingering bitterness, well balanced, very drinkable. Nice beer.
