750ml bottle I picked up a few years back at the brewery during the night of my buddyβs wedding. Pours a murky, ruby amber with some thin, eggshell head. Nose has wood pulp, red grape, some vinegar, soured malt, some blood orange. Flavor follows along, mild vinegar, mild tart fruit, blood orange, unripened pear, cedar notes, a little cleaning fluid. Oily, tart finish. This seems to be either peaking or on the back end.

Keg at The Pony Bar UES, NYC. Pours clear gold with a slight, white foam head. Aroma of sweet berries, light tangy malts. Medium to big sweet flavor with some tangy berries, caramel, golden raisins, bread. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Warming finish with further tangy berries, caramel, bread, mild honey and apple. Itβs a bit boozy at times but not bad for 11%.

750ml shared by some generous soul at the DC tasting. The wine barrels actually complement and mellow the whole beer out. Sweet, almost excessively sweet. Honey tinged Barleywine. Unique offering.

750mL provided by noodleuser. Thanks! This poured a really cloudy copper-orange color with a small wispy white head. Some notes of tea, vanilla, light fruits. Interesting brew.

Bottle courtesy of noodleuser, thank you sir! Hazy deep golden color, small white head. Aroma of apricot, peach, vanilla. Taste is smooth lemon and vanilla. A bit odd, but interesting.

Sample at Denver Rare Beer Tasting IV on 10/12/2012. Murky orange-amber color with a medium white head that recedes steadily. Partial rings of lacing. Fruit and yeast in the nose. Full-bodied with flavors of cherry, yeast and malt. The finish is fruity with a grainy malt and yeast aftertaste. Decent overall.
