Taste: Cacao, Toasted Dark Bread, Dry Finish
Notes: Cerne is Czech for “black”. This cold weather cult classic has toasty and slightly roasted malt character. Notes of dark chocolate and coffee make this beer perfect for a chilly evening. Double decocted, open fermented, naturally carbonated, lagered forever.

16 oz can. Aroma shows me chocolate, coffee, and roasted malt. Flavor shows a good amount of coffee with chocolate and roasted malt nuances. Hints of char. Pretty good flavor given the ABV level. Nicely dry texture in a medium plus body. Good!

Thought I’d had this one, but incorrect. Glad I tried now. Dark pour. Nose is cocoa and clean lager goodness. Tastes of roast coffee, cocoa powder, grass, steel barrel, touch of licorice. Smooth and fun.

Can (12/15/20--4.5% ABV) from Total Wine & More, Danvers. It's a lightly hazy dark brown-mahogany with decent sparkle at the edges of the glass, finger-width beige foamy head with huge soapy clumps of lace. Aroma is wet leaves, humus, roasted malt, toffee. Taste is woody, lightly roasted malt, mild caramel. Mouthfeel is light side of light-to-medium bodied with thin texture, soft carbonation and finish as taste. Overall, decent strength of aroma and flavor with a fair amount of complexity if you take your time. Nice.
