Schlafly Tasmanian IPA is brewed with 100% Australian hops. The Tasmanian hop, Galaxy, is a strong, aromatic variety that is different from traditional strains of the Pacific Northwest. Our brewers developed a recipe that showcases the hop’s unique flavors of citrus and pineapple.

Sample at Bridge Tap House & Wine Bar. Clear straw color with a thick white head that diminishes slowly. Sticky rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of citrus, hops and malt. Medium-bodied with flavors of oniony hops, grapefruit and bready malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a lingering hoppy aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Bottle. Floral pink grapefruit, pineapple, mango, and honey malt aroma. Hazy golden straw color with a large white head. Grapefruit, pineapple, and light earthy pine flavor. Medium body, soft carbonation, light astringent finish. The aroma is just incredible on this one. Schlafly has always been hit or miss for me, so this one was a really pleasant surprise.

Bottle. Pours hazy golden yellow with a medium creamy white head that leaves nice lacing. Aroma is tropical citrus, passionfruit, pine. Flavor is the same, lightly sweet and light plus bitterness lingering to the finish. Medium body, creamy mouthfeel. I suppose they will get old eventually, but I am still digging these New Zealand/Australia/Tasmania hopped IPAs, and this is no exception.

Lemony look. Smells is that of your favorite sex mates BO. Big strong flavor of bitter hops like bitter green grapefuit rinds. Bitter impact, did I say bitter yet? Quite impressive. yet if does not come across as thick and viscous like so many other ipa. Not much co2. I’m, not impressed but if you like ipa, seek this out.

Bottle that my mother-in-law brought for Christmas. Now that’s a mother-in-law! Pours a fairly clear light gold with a thin head and aromas of tropical fruit and a little tartness. Flavor is very nice with a bit of papaya and mango covering a little bit of an odd yeast flavor.

Tap at Birreria Paradiso Georgetown. Hazy orange-tan with a creamy off-white head. Awesome unique funky island tropical insanity aroma. Perhaps the most all out Starburst tropical IPA I’ve ever had. Delightful golden malt body, never too thick doing anything other than creating a steady backbone for the intense hops to shine. Sort of blows a great beer like Zombie Dust out of the water. True hop dream. Lemon-lime, peach, interesting pungent twang, and no sugary overtones. Phenomenal! Light noble peppery notes meets tropical bliss.

Quite nice. Thanks for the recommendation Jay.
