Crazy drinkable ale. Soft pillowy citrus character, little white pepper, lemon peel, pine needles, pale biscuits, delicate bitterness, rind, nip of fresh grass. Spectacular mouthfeel. Great balance. Restrained lingering bitterness, just enough sweetness. Superb.

Bottle. Anvil and Barrel. Or it might be Barrel and Anvil. Anyway it’s the new Beer Central in Sheffield. This is a stunner. Glowing pale orange with the soppiest Kernel swede you could wish for. Pale malts up front with tangerine and satsuma flesh and peel. Bit of weed. Something like ripe white gooseberry. It’s out of the ordinary and turns into one of those beers you can’t stop smelling. Taste is light dry and nicely bitter. Comes across pithy and zesty. Sweetness isn’t getting a look in here. Super drinkable to the tune this 500ml lasted well under 5 minutes. Long lingering bitter finish. Class.
