Bottle: Pours slightly hazy, dark amber with a short, rough, beige head. Caramel aroma. Taste is malty....caramel...with a slightly vegetal bitter... Leafy. Watery. Not that good..

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, best before 9/2013. Pours moderately hazy orange copper color with a 1-2 finger dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass. Aromas of caramel, toffee, toast, biscuit, floral, light nuttiness, grass, and floral earthiness. Ok aromas with good complexity of malt notes with light hops; and decent strength. Taste of caramel, toast, toffee, biscuit, floral, grass, light nuttiness, light pine, and toasted earthiness. Light pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of caramel, toast, toffee, biscuit, floral, grass, light nuttiness, and toasted earthiness on the finish. Nice complexity of malt flavors with a fair amount of hop presence; with solid robustness and no cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with fairly creamy, smooth, and crisp mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is well hidden with minimal warming noticed after the finish. Overall this a pretty solid malty amber ale style. Good complexity and balance of malt notes with light hops; and smooth and crisp to drink. A pleasantly enjoyable offering.

12 oz bottle, purchased @ Nikki’s Liquors in Providence, RI. Light amber / reddish color. ¼ inch head that produced light spotty lace. Nice malt nose, slight hop is present as well. A very straight forward brew. Good caramel malt and weak hop. Nothing bad, very drinkable. But nobody is going to get real excited about this. I’m sure it’s better on tap.

(Bottled) Poured amber and hazy with small white head. Malts and hops were in the aroma. Medium bodied palate with medium carbonation. Clear hop flavour. Also tasted of malts, sweetness, bitterness and lightly sea water. Malty and hoppy aftertaste.

An overall solid beer. Rich, thick head and strong, dark copper color. Taste is suggestive of caramel and toffee. Smooth with just enough complexity to keep it interesting. I wish this brew was more widely distributed.
