22oz bottle this was one of my favorite out of the set. I am a beet fan and they nailed it. Pours out a orangeish amber topped with a small head. Nose is earth tones beets dirt and a malty kick. Taste is more of the beets earth tones and a nice end. They nailed this one.

22 ounce bottle. Pours a hazy amber orange with a light pink hue. Small fluffy beige head. Sweet biscuity malt aroma with hints of beets (yes!) and ripe mango. Interesting flavor upfront with notes of peppery bitterness and tropical fruit sweetness. The sweet malt dominates but their is an underlying hoppy bite that lingers throughout. Medium bodied with a creamy mouthfeel that finishes dry and bittersweet.

Bottle - Believe it or not it smells like beets right from the ground. Earthy, spicy and fruity sweet. Reddish amber with a frothy head. Earthy and of course beets, but the sweetness is cut with hoppy bitterness that reminds you this is a beer. Definitely not one I would want again, but an interesting beer that does credit to the beet without losing the fact it is a beer.

On tap at the bocktown robinson, nice ber tasting place. A slight reddish maroon beer. Not much aroma but possibly a mildly barely detectable olfactory. Think about pulling a beet out of the ground at yer ancestors farm and then biting into it without rinsing it off. No lie. After the beet there is this typical ale thing going on. Very unique fer sure. Finoshes off with a back of throat bitter finish. Yes each taste is a dirty beet folowed by a back pf throat medicinal finsih. Quite unique, why hasn’t other beer companies inthe US thought about usin beets.

Extra points for a unique beet-flavoured beer that really shines entirely for the odd choice of vegetable. I’m not a huge beet fan but this did taste exactly like beets, though did not come out too strong. Probably guaranteed to taste awful to those who hate the beet, and indeed it’s lacking in complexity, but it’s not such a bad experiment overall.

Tap at the Stagshead. I wanted a sampler but they said no because everyone needs to try some of these apocalypse beers but then bartender bought me a shot of jamison to cheer me up. Anyways this pours a perfect scarlet so appropriate for end times. not much on the nose and tastes of cherries, earth, pepper, and beets. odd and very dry. but interesting

Location: 22 oz bottle from Half Time, 10/7/12

Aroma: The nose is "beaty" for sure, with some earth, yeast, and some hints of dirty grass
Appearance: It pours a hazy reddish-pink color with a lasting off-white head and light lace
Flavor: The taste is much like the nose, with lots of beats and earth, and a light grassy bitterness
Palate: The body is medium, it has a decent feel to it, but at the same time just feels a touch off
Overall Impression: Shared this one with mwmanvt. There's a ton going on here, but the bottom-line for me is that I couldn't imagine having to drink more then the half of a bomber that I had, and that is not a good sign.

On tap. Pours a clear red. Beets to the nose. More beets to taste. Just beets. Yuck. I rarely throw out a beer. This was so bad I could not finish. You’ve got to be a geriatric to like this one!
