The Duck-Rabbit Hoppy Bunny American Black Ale is both intensely hoppy and intensely black! Eight separate hop additions offer delicious bitterness and beguiling hop aroma/flavor. Heavily represented among these hops are Chinook, which provides deep pine and sticky citrus components, and a New Zealand hop called Motueka, from which we get bright fruit and spearmint notes.

12 oz. bottle from The Beer Shoppe. Massive carbonation on a slow tiled pour. The head lasted until the end of the glass with the mouthfeel having a very lively; effervescent feel. The aroma is a bouquet of floral hops and mild chocolate.
Great body that almost leads me to believe this is a hoppy stout, nice and full. Citrus and chocolate compliments the nice lingering pine that lasts well after the sip. Some dry roast on the tongue. I enjoy this style and rather often. This Black IPA / CDA is among the top in class, nicely crafted.

Thanks to Rian for sharing!!
The beer starts smooth, very sticky. Intense malty, roasted but too sticky for me. The nice floral hops are covered by the roasted malty dry body. The aftertaste is smooth, intense, roasted with a fresh hoppy note lying over the malty intense brew!
great, but a bit too sticky to let the hops come through! 12/12/13/12

Pours black into a Sam glass. Mocha head with medium retention recedes to hug rim. Pumpernickel, pine and grapefruit aromas. Chocolate and pit fruit upfront turning to espresso in citrus finish.

12 ounce bottle. Dark brown color topped by a small creamy beige head. Interesting complex aroma, has notes of dark chocolate pine needles and spearmint. Big dark roasted malt flavor has a touch of bittersweet chocolate and resiny hops. Big chewy mouthfeel. Big hoppy finish combines with the dark malts to produce a badass ABA.

A deep dark IPA with a thin brown head. In aroma, nice floral hops over chocolate, pungent and floral. In mouth, bitter chocolate with piney floral hops, coffee grind, grapefruit pulp, nice.

volatile hoppy fumey aroma. from bottle, why was I thinking this would not be a dark beer? you know, the name, hoppy bunny aba, not thinking the b was for black. and thus it pours, a beauty black beer with a tan head that goes into this rising dough evolution to a plateau. big nasty hoppy black beer, nasty that is if you are a lager lover, heheh. big long bitter finish trenches into your tongue for a finish. does not hide alky well even tho it does not come across as viscous. dark burnt background makes this almost enjoyable.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured black color with a huge foamy dark brown head that lingered and left decent lacing. The aroma was licorice, roasty malts, tart fruity hops, perfume and a odd slightly off presence. The flavor was bitter, roasty and toasty with notes of anise, rough fruity hops, perfume and again an odd off presence. Long bitter, roasty, anise and fruity hop finish. Medium body. Ok.
