A golden IPA with a thin white head. In aroma, light floral hops with grassy notes. In mouth, a decent malt base over classic c-hops, light grapefruits, chalky notes, not bad. On tap at PA Flavor, April 9th, 2011.

Slightly cloudy orange coloured body with a honey like glow and a thin, one-centimetre tall off-white head. Aroma of corn, pale malt, light hops, grass, hay and some other saison like smells. Medium-bodied; Very grassy, herbal hoppiness with a bit of a floral kick and tastes of tea as the flavour drags on. Aftertaste is strong and bittering - grass and a resiny hop taste are very noticeable along with some dry finishes. Overall, a pretty one-sided beer (hops, no malt) showing the grassy, herbal hops that can show up in a beer. Not great, but an example of a dry, assertive ipa. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Norm’s in Vienna, Virginia on 02-October-2010, sampled at home in Washington on 17-December-2010.

Served on draft at the Gettysburg location. Pours a faintly hazy copper color with a medium head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma of toffee and fresh citrus hops. The taste is big citrus hop notes, grapefruit and a bitter finish that lingers. Medium bodied. Nice beer.

Location: Updating with a 12 oz bottle from State Line, 9/11/12

Aroma: The nose is light, with some grassy hops, some pine and floral notes
Appearance: It pours a hazy orange color with a small head and medium lace
Flavor: It has a lightly malty and lightly hoppy flavor, with not a whole lot going on...
Palate: The body is light-medium, a little sticky, and slightly abrupt with a lightly dry finish
Overall Impression: Sometimes I like to give a re-rate with a bottle to something I had on draft (or vice versa). For this one, I actually lowered the score, because this bottle made me feel this was a straight 3 beer...3.0: 6/3/6/3/13 Ultimately, I went 3.1 (13 Overall), but only because it may just be a drop better then a 3.0, and I had it at a 3.3 the first time, so that 3.1 is a sort of average for me.

Location: Tap at the Brewpub, Harrisburg location, 6/13/10

Aroma: Aroma of pine, some grapefruit and caramel as well
Appearance: Clearish apple juice look, streaky white lace
Flavor: The taste is medium sweet, with a short bitter finish
Palate: It has an alright mouthfeel, but the finish is a bit abrupt
Overall Impression: Thus beer could round-out better, but it was solid overall. Not a stand-out IPA, but a drinkable one. Original Score: 3.3: 7/4/6/3/13

Hoppy trails to you, Appallachian. Bitter, dull rather offensive pine needle flavor with lingering bitter grapefruit rind medicine. Nagging terrible soap. Aroma is same as flavor but more enjoyable and refreshing. Costly, $4 for a bottle, but nice label. On style, what else can be said? Borders on doppel IPA territory.

Draft at the Gettysburg location, July 2006. A slightly hazy orange beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet with primary notes of caramel, but also light notes of hops. The flavor is sweet with notes of caramel as well as a nice presence of grapefruit and light touches of grass. The grapefruit and grass lingers for a long time in the aftertaste.
