Kansas City Lager

Like many American burgs, our town was once home to a number of small, regional breweries. As they disappeared, so too went the full-flavored but easy drinking classic American lager. Today, we salute these bygone breweries and revive their legacy with KC Pils: 100% malt, real hop character, unpasteurized. It’s the taste of tradition.

Boulevard Brewing Company is proud to call Kansas City home. KC’s rich brewing heritage inspires us, and local support sustains us. We dedicate this all-malt, real hop, classic American pilsner to you, KC. Cheers!

12 oz bottle purchased at Lukas in Kansas City, Missouri. Rated as the original Boulevard Plisener. Pour is clear pale golden with fins carbonation. Head builds up nicely to a 2 inch pure white. Head falls fairly quickly with minimal lacing. Aroma of generic malt and slightly grassy hops. Behind that is slight dry straw. Faint noce overall. Taste is starts with toasted malt, transitions into straw grassy hops and finishes with a grainy earthiness. Some light sweetness present, though its more of a nutty sweetness than a fruit or sugar sweetness. Mid taste there is a dirty, bordering on metallic taste that fades fast into a clean finish. Palate is thin to medium, lower carbonation level and a clean crisp finish. Overall, this is a clean and drinkable Pils. Nice to have a local fresh option for a bottled Pils.
