Bottleshare at Matteo’s. Hazy deep amber beer, tidy pale tan head. Palate is airy and semi dry, decent fine carbonation. Mild dark malts, a little roast. Tangy floral hop. A touch of soap. Semi dry and mildly bitter finish. Passable.

Bottle shared in London - big thanks to Mitchy. Pours deep brown with a frothy, beige head. Brown bread in the nose, some dry caramel, old berries. Light sweet flavour with more berries, earthy bitterness, leather. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Finishes with earthy hops, more leathery berries, toasty bread. Pretty restrained overall.

Bottle at home. Black with nice deep beige head, looks good. Lots of citrus, resin, a bit grassy too, just some of nice aromatic hops up front. Some coffee and cocoa powder, chalk, light herbs. Under medium sweet and bitter. Medium bodied with mouth coating carbonation. The hops don’t really form one whole with the rest, but pretty decent black IPA overall.
