If you’re not familiar, a Grodziskie is a rarely seen style that originated in Poland. Sometimes called “Polish Champagne,” it’s beloved for its clean, effervescent body and mild wisp of smoke.
Tasting Notes
To create theirs, the Elder Pine crew utilized 100% oak-smoked wheat, giving the brew biscuity nuances and subtle notes of char. European Noble Hops impart a subtle, grassy bitterness for a clean, well balanced sip.
Historical beer style that is nearly impossible to find outside of Poland. Brewed with 100% oak smoked wheat malt, moderately hopped with European noble hops and highly carbonated to provide a refreshing effervescence. Oak smoked wheat is the mildest smoked malt available so the smoke level of Grodziskie is very restrained compared to other smoked beers.

Can. Pours clear yellow, small white head, good lacing. Aroma is hardwood smoke, hint of lemon zest, grain. Flanks is light plus smoke, biscuit malt, light sweet, light bitter. Crisp. Light body. Lovely. Crushable.

Can from Tavour. Pours pale bright gold with a decent white head. Rich tho not intense smoke aroma. Med body. The smoke reminds a bit of beechwood. Dry but there's a fairly strong grass spice component that blends well withe the persisting smokiness. Very nice.

Very smoke-forward, even for the style (though not too much). Nutty, rich wheat supporting and softening it. Clean with no lactic acid (which sometimes gets added to the modern interpretation).
Rich and wheaty, yet spectacularly dry and spritzy. Good smokiness throughout, though not overdone. Soft at points, tons of wheat flavor and texture but high carbonation and good attenuation keep it brisk and quenching. Tons of flavor for its size and just an all-around polished, well-executed version that avoids any kettle souring/lactic additions.
