On tap at Churchkey. Pours a cloudy garnett amber with some spitty white head. Nose is a little nail polish, cherry, malt, some grass. Flavor is sweet, malty, cherry, light cough syrup, a little orange, bitter greens, light wood pulp. Full, lightly astringent finish.

Draft. Murky variegated brown color, bright tan head, solid lacing. Aroma of lightly spiced caramel, vanilla. Taste is nicely subtle whiskey with vanilla, butterscotch. Very nice.

Tap at Meridian Pint for the 1 year anniversary party. WOW. I went into this one with low expectations, considering it’s a mild ale and that whatever the base beer was it would be competely overshadowed by the whiskey - causing the beer to be virtually undrinkable. I was completely wrong - this one was balanced so nicely between the sweet malts of the base beer and the characteristics that were picked up by the Catoctin Creek Rye Whiskey barrels. Vanilla, whiskey touches, sweet malts - this one is so smooth and extremely enjoyable.
