On "velvet" (aka nitro) at the 7th street location, pours a dark brown with some creamy, tan head. Nose has toast, burnt malts, bread, some pine, soap, a little chocolate. Flavor follows, medium roast, dark chocolate, toast, pine. Creamy finish. A bit dumbed down, but OK.

Dark brown coloured body with a nice tan head, about two centimetres tall. Aroma of pungent hops with a citrus and piney bite along with some roasted malt and caramel/toffee - nice! Medium-bodied; Strong roasted malt flavours with a very nice balance of hops coupled with some sweet finishes, but a very malty flavour at the end. Aftertaste shows some great complexity with the roasted malt, a hint of light spices and a bit of sweetness balancing out the sweetness. Overall, a nice beer and a good example from the style, especially from a local brewer. I sampled this pint on draught on 30-November-2012 at the Washington location.
