Pretty interesting. Hoppy with nice head, carpet lacing. Orangish red. Smells hoppy at beginning, some barrel in aftertaste. A little bitter with some malt in finish as well. Average carbonation. On tap at brewery.

Bottle - Bready malts. Dark amber, clear with a decent off white head. Sweet, bready and alcohol. Nice rich body. Not bad and great value.

Der dumpf herbe Beginn zeigt deutlich, dass das Bier schon viel Hopfenaroma verloren hat. Bitter, vollmundig. AbschlieΓend trocken und getreidig. Noch ok! 12/9/11/9/11/9

Bottle courtesy of Jonas, thanks! Clear bright brown color. Aroma of slightly boozy caramel. Taste is sweet and malty at the start, bitter finish.

Has an okay amber body with no carbonation and a decent layer of head on top. Aroma is leaning towards malts with a balance of hops to give it some complexity. Flavour is a very hoppy affair with a dry finish and yet more hops. This stuff is simple but very, very refreshing.

Bottle from Brewery Creek
Dark mahogany color; small sized creamy head. The aroma is mild (caramel, vegetables), the flavor is a bit stronger, but just with some dusty caramel; it has a decent bitterness level, but without any hop quality; the final is lightly ashy too. Messy. Disappointing.

Pours a deep dark red, with a small off-white head. Aroma brings out notes caramel malts, pronounced citrusy and resinous hops, and a hint dark fruit. Flavour is slightly more muted, with musty, earthy hops, dry caramel malt and toasted bread. A lot more aromatic than flavourful, though is certainly improved from the original recipe - perhaps it's gotten tweaked over the years. Solid imperial red.

Thanks to JoeMcPhee for sharing - pours a clear dark amber - smells like sticky sweet malts, boiled vegetables, and metal - the flavor is pretty much the same - starchy, vegetal, sweet - not much else happening here - wtf?

A nice reddish brown ale with a thick off white head. A wonderful aroma of sweet flowers, treacle, and floral C-hops. In mouth, a caramelly IPA with good roasted notes, and a good hopping. Bottle from Capflu. Shared Aug. 2008, with Capflu, GRM, et al., Brasseurs du temps gathering.

Dark reddish-brown and hazy. Woody nose with caramel, brown sugar and deep fruitiness. Rich, thick head. Quite fruity, with vibrant hop, brown sugar, caramelized apple. Finishes sweet, sugary, fairly earthy.
