Hand bottle from further. Of course no head but that’s ok. Despite a setup that would usually hit on all my hate strings, it’s actually well done. First of all, it’s not boozy, also not astringent; two big pitfalls avoided. Not hop centric, which I prefer. It’s not barrel heavy, which I also prefer. It’s a very chewy malt base with some sweet malt syrup. Finishes lighter than expected with all the chewy malts. Leaves me wanting more. Thanks John.

Draft at GABBF. Hazy golden brown color, thick tan head. Aroma of toffee, butterscotch, caramel. Taste is toasted butterscotch and brandy. Mouthfeel is almost chewy. The biggest beer of the festival so far, although I certainly haven’t tried them all.
