Draft: Poured a oily black with maroon red edges, the head was beige. Aroma was sweet bourbon, chocolate, and vanilla. Taste is very Jim Beam bourbon up front which personally I am not big on, but has nice chocolate sweetness that keeps it balanced along with vanilla.

Draft at the source. Very dark and clear marron brown color, thick tan head with good retention. Aroma of coffee grounds and cocoa powder. Taste is similar. Body seemed thin, but that could be because I drak the big barleywines and eisbocks first.

On tap at Glacier Brewhouse, Anchorage. Deep murky opaque garnet body, thin-medium tan head. Potent, inky nose with significant oak, bourbon, molasses, licorice, chocolate, and dark fruits. Body dominated by tannic oak and bourbon, with mild chocolate and coffee flavors that are mostly overwhelmed by the aging process. The base beer is too light to carry the oak, but I still enjoyed the beer.

Sampled from the tap at 2010 FOBAB. Poured near black with opaque edges and yellow brown head that dissipated to the edges. Aroma had dark grains with oak and some sweet notes including chocolate and coconut. Flavor had dark but sweet chocolate, coconut and bourbon with just a hint of underlying roast.
