Bottle. Brown color. Malt and caramel in the aroma. Malty sweet soft roasty caramelly flavor. Hint of licorice. Hardly any carbon. Disappointing. 6 3 5 2 8 = 2.4 2017 bottle. Dark brown color. Caramel in the bready aroma. Hint of earthy hops. Full bodied. Malty sweet, bready flavor. Hint of roast. Caramelly. Milk chocolate. Much, much better as in the previous year!

Bottle at home. Pours unclear brown with light tan head. Sweet malts, caramel, cigar and tea leaves, dates, chestnuts, licorice. Quite sweet and bitter, touch of sour on top of the roasty bitterness. Over medium body, heavy malty feel and soft carbonation. Quite nice. Needs smoke. --- Beer merged from original tick of #4 on 28 Feb 2019 at 00:56 - Score: 7

Disparate cream-coloured head, slow in building, fast gone again over hazy red-amber beer. Sweet-bread, but also slightly sourish aroma. Sourmilkchocolate? Bit fruity too. Bitterish, on a sweet, again quite chocolate-like underbuild. Fusels (!), esters and alcohol, fruity, raisins, plums. No acidity in the main taste, only to return retronasal. Feels surprisingly carbonated, medium bodied, slick. There ’s something here that screams a lot of things - anything but "Bock"...

Bottle @ weekly tasting shared by Joes. Hazy autumn red color, average sized off-white to beige head. Smell and taste malts, sweet, a distant hint of caramel and slightly tea. Hmm somehow these flavors don’t combine really well. Not bad I think but not my thing.
