30.04.2014, tap @ Mikkeller & Friends:
Nice creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is slightly sweet, caramel malts, hay, hops, leafs, paper, sap, toffee, grass, nuts. Taste is slightly sweet grassy, caramel malts, leafs, soil, hops, cardboard, grass, pine needles, licorice, bark, toffee. Medium to longlasting bitterness, dry mouthfeel. Not really my cup of tea.

Hazy deep amber beer, tidy cream colour head. Palate is smooth and slightly viscous. Modest fine carbonation. Sweet malts, toffee - caramel and mild cream. Apple brandy bites, turning to tarter apple and even a little acidity. Light semi dry finish. The calvados barreling really balances out the sweet malts. Unsual and tasty.

Draught @ Mikkeller & Friends. Aroma is odd with some bun dough and hay. Also some strawberries. Flavour has wort, raw bun dough, some berries and hay. Also some harsh malt. Feels English and raw.

Pours reddish orange with a smooth white head. Aroma of caramely malts, syrup, toffee, ripe fruity notes and fudge. Taste is sweet, sticky and caramely malty with loads of syrup, toffee and some ripe fruity hoppiness. Finish is sticky, sweet and syrupy with some yeastiness and toffee notes. Quite sweet and sticky English style BW.

On tap at Mikkeller Bar Stockholm. A bit hazy reddish/brown with a minimal head. Quite sweet with dried fruit, malt, strawberries, light hops and carbonation. The mouthfeel was thick. Warming alcohol in the finish.

On tap at Pig’s Ear BF 09. Haze red amber. Big hop and sweet US style barley wine on aroma. Lovely, I mean I love these big sweet barley wines with huge hops, but could I drink that much of it? Sweet strawberry flavour is nice. Good though.

Draught@Nordic, Tampere. Deep rubyish murky brown colour with smal beige head. Aroma is a bunch of alcohol, raisins, sweet malts, fruity rather sweet hops, plumpudding and some spices. Flavour is very much the same in a rather wellbalanced way. Some of the sweetness is a bit too much though. Still pleasant.
